This…will be a long one. I will let the photos do the talking and you will see why!
Touba’s Nikkah Day encapsulated all my favourite parts of being a wedding photographer. She was the Pinterest Bride personified! Her attention to detail was incredible. Leading up to her big day, she carefully planned out any styling trinkets and the various details she wanted in her shots. Beautifully colour coordinated fabrics like the velvet ring boxes, glass accents, embossed cards, fresh florals, a stunning personalized Nikkah contract by White Quill Co. that perfectly accentuated everything else – truly a feast for the eyes and made my job ten times more enjoyable. And of course, what a stunning bride she made. Let’s dig into the gallery!
We had a lot of fun during Touba’s getting ready session. One big takeaway for me, and something I would recommend to anyone planning some lesser details of your wedding day, was how great it was that we were in a rented space outside the bride’s house. Of course getting ready at home is completely fine and can be very sentimental. There’s just something about exploring different aesthetically unique spaces outside of your house to get some great shots. It’s a nice touch if you’re able to manage to scout a separate space.
Some of my favourite shots were the ones of all her details like her invitations, jewelry, shoes and florals. She had designed her invitations all by herself! When I walked into the airbnb, I saw a table beautifully laid out with all her details. She had it al styled and ready to go for Shahab and I. Talk about being such a detail oriented bride who did her homework! It truly showed in the photos and gave us so much extra time to take different variations of her wedding stationery, styled in many different ways as you can see from the photographs.
Some stand out shots:
Touba’s artistic and thoroughly organized touch was evident when she stood next to Hassan. The blush tones accented with pearls, soft gold and powder pastels gleamed wonderfully in the scenic late summer warmth. They made a stunning pair.
The dress is one of her own designs that she got made in Pakistan. It photographed so well surrounded by the backdrop of the regal Parkwood Estate’s grounds, a hidden gem in the Durham region. Inspired by early 20th century Beaux-Arts design, the mansion was built between 1915-17 with an Edwardian Baroque influence style. So many quaint nooks and crannies in between beautifully landscaped gardens made for a fairytale couple’s shoot.
As the Estate itself is so gorgeously designed, wedding decor was kept to a minimum. Touba carried the theme of blush and gold with fresh florals for the dainty nikkah set-up. When I say every detail was thought through – I mean everything! The blush feather pen to sign their names on the dotted line was a nice flourishing accessory.
The aquamarine blue of the main pool centering the gardens was an enchanting place to shoot. It had a distinctly Parisian quality to it with the fountains and flora making it look like something out of a painting! We were in luck that there were no other activities happening at the Estate that day – had the whole place for the main event and it felt truly magical. Here are some more close ups of the special day.
It was lovely working with Touba and Hasan. She always went the extra mile and really had a vision planned out for what she wanted. I love when brides take charge like that! Working as a team was so seamless and her family was a joy to be around the whole day. With any outdoor event in September, the weather can make it or break it. Lucky for us, the outdoor conditions could not have been more perfect. A glorious day for the happy couple, what more could we ask for? Thank you for bringing QAS on board to help capture such magical moments!
Kind words from the bride:
Qurrat was an absolute dream to work with. I knew she was going to be my photographer well before I had anything else planned. I wanted someone to capture my wedding in a timeless, classy, elegant and beautiful way and there was no better photographer suited for me than her. Qurrat A’yun Studios provides exceptional service, professionalism, displays a magnitude of experience by directing and guiding, all while making you feel utterly comfortable. Comfort and connection was a huge for us, as a couple who can be shy around the camera. However, working with Qurrat was easy, smooth, and so much fun! She always went above and beyond to accommodate us, was well respected by our guests and truly was a pleasure to have on one of our biggest days. I can’t recommend her enough! Qurrat has an incredible timeline to deliver, and provided us with THE most stunning photographs to cherish forever & ever & ever. Lots of love for our favourite photographer to exist!
