If you caught Manahil and Rehan’s Indiana Pakistani nikkah and baraat at The Gardens at New Fields, you already know this wedding weekend was something special. Their Indiana Pakistani wedding reception the following evening was somehow even more stunning — and if we thought we couldn’t love this couple and their families any more, the second day proved us wrong.

Portraits in Downtown Indianapolis

Before heading to the reception, we took Manahil and Rehan to the Bottleworks District and Indiana War Memorial in downtown Indianapolis for their pre-event portraits — and what a location it is. The scale of the architecture alone is breathtaking, sweeping stone steps, and that open plaza with Art Deco vibes that gives you so much room to work with. It’s one of those Indianapolis landmarks that photographs beautifully from every angle, and paired with Manahil’s reception outfit, the contrast between the monument’s grandeur and the intricacy of her look was everything.

Since Manahil had been so intentional about protecting portrait time throughout the entire wedding weekend, the second day was no different. We had space to explore the location properly, try different angles, and really let the setting work for us. The result is a portrait gallery that feels both editorial and deeply personal — which is exactly what you want heading into your reception night.

If you are looking for portrait locations in Indianapolis for your wedding, the Bottleworks District is one we will absolutely be recommending from here on out. It is stunning, underutilized for wedding portraits, and the payoff is incredible.

The Indiana Roof Ballroom

Then came the reception venue — and truly, nothing could have prepared us for walking into the Indiana Roof Ballroom for the first time. Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, the Indiana Roof Ballroom is a historic landmark with the kind of old-world elegance that feels both timeless and completely cinematic. Think ornate ceilings, warm golden light, grand chandeliers, and a ballroom that was genuinely built for celebrations like this one.

The decor complemented the venue beautifully — elevated and intentional without competing with the architecture. When a venue already has that much character, the best thing you can do is let it breathe, and that’s exactly what was done here. The result was a reception space that felt incredibly grand while still feeling warm and full of life.

Including photos is always a nice touch to personalize your decor

As photographers, a venue like the Indiana Roof Ballroom can be tricky to shoot in because of the high, dark ceilings. If you’re planning your event in a similar venue, be sure to let your photographer know and make sure they’re equipped with the appropriate lighting to get the beautiful portraits you want.  The venue was absolutely stunning and so unique, easily one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Indiana, and we genuinely hope we get to shoot there again.

Both families brought the same warmth and energy from the night before into the reception, and it showed from the moment the couple made their entrance. The room was full, the love was palpable, and the dancing that followed was exactly as lively and joyful as you would expect after a weekend like this one.

Manahil and Rehan, thank you for letting our team be part of your entire wedding weekend. Road trips are always worth it for weddings like this — and this one will genuinely stay with us for a long time.

If you are planning a Pakistani wedding in Indianapolis or anywhere in Indiana and are looking for photography coverage, we would love to connect with you. Be sure to check out Manahil and Rehan’s nikkah and baraat post if you haven’t already!
