Most of my summer time is always jam packed with wedding shoots, so if I ever get an email about doing family or maternity sessions, I always have to sadly decline. In this case, when Nagham emailed me a couple of months ago for her maternity session (she told me I was the one of the first people she shared the news with!! What an honour!!) I couldn’t help but say yes. I was so honoured that she asked me to take their photos during such a special season of their lives.
Nagham and Sulman are one of my past clients; I did their engagement photos for them back during one of my fall mini sessions in 2016. Their session back then was so full of laughter and fun, and it was quite obvious that these two are such a joyful couple masha’Allah; photographing them 2 years later, I would say that nothing about that has changed. If anything, there was more laughter and fun during this session than our last one!
Nagham wore a beautiful maternity gown by Leah Maria Couture, and paired it with a gorgeous floral crown. Floral crowns always add this majestic look to maternity photos. I love it when my clients incorporate it in their session! Sulman was dressed in khakis and a denim shirt, which complimented her outfit so well. The lighting at Websters falls was ahhh-mazing during their session, and it was such a pleasant way of kicking back into my shooting mode after returning from our vacation in Spain.
Photographing them made me realize what a true privilege it is to be a part of a couple’s special journey and milestones of their lives together. I loved shooting their maternity portraits, and I am actually thinking of taking out more time in my schedule to do these more often! It’s such a special feeling being around pregnant women haha. There’s such a special kind of joy the emanate.
Enjoy some of my favourites from their session below. Congratulations again Nagham and Sulman! I hope your baby boys bring nothing but joy, happiness and barakah in your lives when they enter this world 🙂
Testimonial from Nagham:
Qurrat is officially my husband and I’s go to photographer and always our first recommendation. We did a fall mini shoot with her 2 years ago for our engagement and came back this year for our maternity shoot. Our biggest regret was not booking her for our wedding.
My husband hates taking photos, but both times with Qurrat we had tons of fun and the session was filled with enough good vibes and laughter to go around. Qurrat takes her time and was great communicating with us leading up to the session, a blast during and the end product was amazing.
Her turn around time is great and we got our photos within a week of doing our maternity session and pretty quickly after the mini shoot as well if I recall correctly. The pictures were stunning and better than we could have ever imagined, well worth the investment!
What a lovely set of photos!
