The second event of Pinky & Abbas’s weekend was their gorgeous and regal wedding, after their colourful and vibrant mehndi. I had to head back to Toronto for another event, but one of the talented lead photographers on our team shot this beautiful event! The event was held at Leonard’s Palazzo and we took the couple portraits at Planting Fields Arboretum.
We started with capturing all the details – this is another thing I recommend brides take some time out for. You want to capture all the little details you spend so much time curating to make your day special, like invites!
Pinky’s makeup was done by the talented MadebyWaida again and was the perfect complement to her gorgeous Sania Maskatiya outfit. I loved the red tones and the unique sharara and she carried it so elegantly! Abbas’s outfit was a black sherwani from HSY with lots of bold embroidery and the dark contrast made for some lovely photos, especially with the red shawl he added later!
The couples’ portraits were done at the Planting Fields Arboretum, which is a popular shoot location around Long Island – and for good reason! It’s a beautiful location with different places to shoot, with a historic charm, and lots of greenery and flowers. Choosing a shoot location like this can add variety to your portraits. Pinky and Abbas also allocated a lot of time for photos so we were able to capture so many.
The wedding itself was at Leonard’s Palazzo, another popular Long Island venue! It has a gorgeous, grand lobby with lots of chandeliers and the lighting during the day was also really nice. We were also able to take our time and got a lot of portraits here as well!
The decor was the classic red and gold Pakistani wedding, done wonderfully by Exclusive Events @exclusiveeventsny, who also did Pinky and Abbas’ mehendi decor! This event was a testament to the power of decor – the venue was entirely transformed with all the lovely decor.
We took some more portraits and family photos inside the venue with the decor as well. This is something brides often look over – but it’s so nice to get your family portraits taken before the wedding event starts!
The entrances, nikkah, and rasams were all so fun – I loved the attention to detail with the signs, ring and doodh pillai trays, and the nikkah nama.
The night finished with the rukhsati, but not without dancing of course! The event was so regal and fun, and Pinky and Abbas were truly a pleasure to work with and put so much thought and care into planning each part! It made me even more excited to get back and shoot their reception the next day.
