Today’s post is an oldie but a goodie! We shot Manal and Aftab’s wedding back in 2021 and still look back on it for inspo to this day! We got to shoot three of their events, but their Pakistani mehendi photography was one of our favourites of all time! It was a quintessential mehendi filled with so much colour and detail; you can tell how much thought was put into planning everything, and we are so excited to share.

GETTING READY PORTRAITS + ALL THE LITTLE DETAILS

Before the festivities began, we started the morning capturing Manal as she got ready, and the little details truly set the tone for the day ahead. Her bangles, jewelry, and bright Farah Talib Aziz mehendi outfit were laid out like a work of art, so we photographed each piece before she put it on. Meanwhile, her talented glam team at Shirly Wu worked their magic, and her look was truly stunning.

COUPLE’S PORTRAITS AT RIVERWOOD CONSERVANCY

If you’ve kept up with our blog, you know that the Riverwood Conservancy is one of our go-to locations for couples’ portraits. The lush greenery and florals provided the perfect natural backdrop against their colourful outfits. The variety of backdrops and bright summer lighting make the portraits feel effortless and warm, the classic timeless Qurrat A’yun style we all know and love.

VENUE TRANSFORMED INTO A COLOURFUL MELA

The team at Doli Decor completely transformed the venue into a stunning, colourful mela, and it’s easily one of the most memorable setups we’ve photographed. They brought in vibrant rickshaws and carnival-style rides, layering the space with bold fabrics, fun lighting, signage, and playful decor touches throughout.

We especially loved the bunting across the dance floor, which was the perfect complement to the floor wrap done by @designerdancefloors. As guests wandered through, they discovered new photo backdrops around every corner, so we made sure to capture each one. Additionally, the mela theme gave the whole event a festive, celebratory energy that carried through every single photograph we took that day.

Of course, we had to take portraits of Manal with the gorgeous decor, and her look fit right in. We were obsessed with all the details and colour and all of it photographed so beautifully!

A MEHENDI NIGHT TO REMEMBER

 The rest of the night was a classic mehendi, with sweet rams, singing, and dancing, followed by lots of delicious food, including a live Kulfi Station by @kulfihut_ and live chai station from @chaiontap!

We loved capturing this stunning event, and even five years later we still look back on it fondly! We can’t wait to share Manal & Aftab’s regal nikkah next, so keep an eye on the blog for that!
