After spending time in California and Buffalo, we’re excited to be back in the GTA! Today we’re sharing Mehar and Omer’s vibrant mehendi. We started with their portraits at Riverwood Conservancy, then headed to their stunning mehendi at the Palacio Events Centre.

Mehar and Omer celebrated their destination wedding in Turkey earlier in the year. Their mehendi brought the celebration home with colour, love, and so much fun — exactly the kind of event we love to shoot!

Wedding Photography at Riverwood Conservancy

Riverwood Conservancy is one of our favourite spots for wedding photography in Mississauga. This stunning 150-acre conservancy boasts gorgeous gardens and greenery right in the heart of the city. It sits a short distance from tons of popular GTA wedding venues, making it perfect if you don’t want to drive too far or if you’re on a tight timeline.

First look and fresh blooms

Omer and Mehar shared a sweet first look, and the greenery made her stunning Ali Xeeshan lehenga pop even more. June is a perfect time to shoot at Riverwood. The peonies and roses in the gardens reach peak bloom, adding the perfect colour to your portraits — especially for mehendis!

Varied backgrounds, all in one place

One of the things we love most about Riverwood is how much variety it offers within a single session. The 150-acre property includes scenic trails, open meadows, wooded pathways, and the Credit River running through it. Couples can move from lush garden portraits to woodland and riverside shots, then finish with manicured terraces — all without leaving the property. It’s the kind of location that gives your wedding album real depth.

A permit is required — but it’s worth it

Here’s something every couple should know before booking a session at Riverwood: you’ll need a photography permit for wedding and commercial shoots. You can request the permit through the City of Mississauga, and most weddings receive a 90-minute block of time for their session. Book your reservation well in advance, so bring this up early in your planning process.

We always recommend booking your permit as soon as you confirm your date. This matters most if you’re hoping to shoot during peak bloom in June, when demand for garden sessions is highest.

A Grand Mehendi at Palacio Events Centre

After their shoot, we did some more portraits at their venue, along with a sweet first look with Mehar and her mom. The talented team at The Wedding Boutique 416 transformed the venue, Palacio Events Centre, into a stunning, moody twist on traditional mehendi decor.

Love, laughter, and fun traditions

The rest of the event was your quintessential Pakistani mehendi celebration: lots of rasms, singing, dancing, yummy food, and fun! Mehar and Omer’s first dance featured the best streamers — the photos speak for themselves!
